Breakfast briefing for local companies

AROUND 70 local companies attended a business breakfast seminar organised jointly by Peterborough-based accountants Rawlinsons and Hegarty Solicitors at The Haycock Hotel in Wansford on Wednesday.

Delegates were given updates on the latest changes to employment law from Tim Thompson, partner at Hegarty Solicitors, including important proposed changes to unfair dismissal claims and new employment tribunal procedures which can potentially affect all businesses.

Hegarty Solicitor’s Partner Andrew Heeler outlined the range of benefits and implications of employee share schemes and the impact announced recently in the budget while Rawlinsons’ Partner Julie Bloodworth brought delegates up to speed on the taxation implications of termination payments.

“This is the tenth of our annual business seminars run jointly with Hegarty’s and they are always well supported by local companies keen to understand the various opportunities available to them in this challenging economic climate,” said seminar chairman Chris Collier, Senior Partner at Rawlinsons.

Tim Thompson, Chris Collier, Julie Bloodworth and Andrew Heeler all spoke at the seminar.
