Free Seminar: Planning for the Future

We are pleased to announce that we are running our very popular free Planning for the Future seminar for a fifth year in a row.  The session looks at the options for safeguarding your home from care fees and explains how you can choose who will make decisions on your behalf if you become mentally incapacitated.

This year’s seminar takes place on Thursday 18th July 2013, at the Rutland Volunteer Centre in Oakham from 9.40am to 12 noon.  The seminar is free to attend, however booking is required in advance.

It is no secret that we have an ageing population.  The number of people aged 70 and over is expected to rise by 50% in the next 20 years and an estimated three quarters of people over the age of 65 will develop a care need.

Jo Wild, solicitor and specialist in Wills, Trusts and Wealth Management who is presenting the seminar, said, “We are delighted to be running this extremely popular event again this year.  We know that many older people are worried about having to sell their homes to pay for long term care, and are unsure about what would happen if they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves.  The good news is that there are options available and a little careful planning now can provide peace of mind for the future.”
