We have a dedicated charity committee who organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year.
This year our chosen charity is the Peterborough and District Samaritans. They work to prevent suicide through the power of human connection - connecting people in crisis with trained volunteers who will always listen.
Peterborough Samaritans has been supporting Peterborough and the surrounding area for 50 years. As well as delivering their listening service, they support HMP Peterborough and HMP North Sea Camp by training prisoners to provide emotional support to their peers. The Outreach team regularly deliver talks and training at schools, local employers and community groups.
All of their funding is raised locally, helping them to offer 24/7 support to people in our local community who really need it.
We sponsor and support a number of local charities, sports clubs and events including the Stamford & District Indoor Bowls Association, Stamford Festival Charity Golf Tournament, Peterborough & District Indoor Bowls Centre, Market Deeping Cricket Club and Blackstones Under 9’s, a local football team based in Stamford. We also support community events such as Family Fun days in Bourne and Market Deeping, Christmas Fayres and local festivals to ensure we are giving back to the local communities that we work in.
We also support other local charities and services such as Hope Against Cancer, Shine, The Christmas Dinner Peterborough, Peterborough Foodbank, Rutland Foodbank, Bourne Citizens Advice, PECT, Evergreen Care Trust and many more!
Additionally, we are corporate sponsors of Peterborough Young Professionals and we sponsor the Peterborough Celebrates Festival too.
Finally, each year we sponsor the Stamford Mercury Business Awards – supporting the hard work of local entrepreneurs.
In addition to sponsoring events, we also run a number of free seminars and events each year. Recent events have included Employment Law, Cyber Security and Business Law seminars. Hegarty is a member of the Peterborough and District Law Society.
We are also members of the Peterborough Civic Society and the Stamford Civic Society. We support the work that societies do towards conserving the heritage and improving the local areas in Peterborough and Stamford.
We are committed to supporting and developing future generations, and have close relationships with many local schools and colleges. We support careers fairs and events throughout the local area working with young people to offer advice about career paths into law.
