Business in Peterborough appears to be well on the way to economic recovery, with a marked increase in mergers and acquisitions activity amongst local firms in the first half of 2013.
Peterborough-based law firm Hegarty Solicitors completed an unprecedented 27 business transactions in its corporate law department the first six months of the year alone.
Partner and department head Andrew Heeler, said ‘Over the past few years, as the economy has struggled, we’ve seen businesses adopt a cautious approach to growth. This year however, there has been a noticeable increase in M&A and investment activity, suggesting that businesses locally are starting to feel more optimistic about the future.”
