I joined Hegarty Solicitors in July 2020 as a Trainee Solicitor. I have always had an interest in law and economics, and decided to embark upon a legal career, with a particular interest in the commercial aspects of law.
I completed my degree at the University of Liverpool and graduated in 2019. I then did my one-year LPC, finishing in June 2020-prior to beginning at Hegarty Solicitors.
My first seat has been in the Commercial Property department, and I have really enjoyed dealing with the transactions. The work varies from boundary-disputes to large plot sales and commercial leases, and it is a very engaging area of law which has inevitably become even more in demand since the stamp-duty relief and global pandemic.
Given the sheer size of what is encapsulated under ‘commercial property’, my day-to-day tasks vary. These tasks include helping to facilitate exchange and completions on commercial sales and leases, to drafting the documents involved in transactions, as well as communicating with clients to rectify issues relating to their matters. Each day is different from the other, and meeting client expectations and deadlines is something which I have enjoyed thoroughly since I have started working at Hegarty’s.
Once I have completed my different training seats at Hegarty Solicitors and qualified as a solicitor, I hope to specialise in a commercial area of law.
