The Employment Rights Act 1996 (Itemised Pay Statement) (Amendment) Order 2018

The Employment Rights Act 1996 (Itemised Pay Statement) (Amendment) Order 2018 was laid before Parliament last week on Thursday 8th of February 2018.

    • The Order requires employers to state the numbers of hours being paid varied to the amount of time that an employee or worker has done.
    • This will be for either a single aggregate figure or as separate figures and it will depend on the different types of work or the rate of pay.
    • This is an amendment to section 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 and this amendment will be added to the ‘list of particulars’ that must be included in the pay statement or payslip that is rightfully given to an employee or worker.
    • The payslip or pay statement must also contain the number of hours worked by an employee or worker for which they are being paid. The order will come into force on Friday 6th April 2018.
