Ashley Sutherland (née Kidd) joined Hegarty Solicitors in 2008 after studying at De Montfort University in Leicester. She qualified as a solicitor with the firm in 2010.
Ashley mostly deals with corporate law and is the firm’s contract specialist. She is fully up to speed with the EU Data Protection Reform and will ensure your website and business contracts are compliant. Ashley also works closely with all types of businesses advising them on the best business structure for their needs and advises and prepares shareholder and partnership agreements. Ashley prepares, negotiates and reviews contracts of all types including terms and conditions of trading, software and intellectual property contracts and supply and distribution agreements. She also deals with and assists in mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
She is a member of Peterborough Young Professionals and is a committee member of the Peterborough Young Lawyers Group and Secretary of the Peterborough & District Law Society.
In 2014 Ashley won the Peterborough & District Law Society’s Young Lawyer of the Year Award; this reflects her hard work, dedication to clients and ongoing community involvement.
Outside of work, Ashley takes part in the martial art of Tang Soo Do. She competed in the World Congress of Martial Arts World Games for Great Britain in 2011 and 2012 and has won several awards including two gold medals. Ashley is Director for Female Athletes for World Congress of Martial Arts (WCOAA) and is a fully qualified instructor.
