Carl Russell is the head of the Family Law department. He covers all areas relating to family law including divorce, prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, Children’s Act proceedings and all family financial matters. Carl is also trained in collaborative law, and as such is able to offer people who are getting divorced an alternative to going to court.
Carl has worked in family law for over 35 years of which he has spent 18 years with Hegarty Solicitors. He is a member of Resolution, a national organisation which believes in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters.
His considerable experience has led Carl to be asked to write articles for the press and he has been interviewed on the radio on the subject of family law matters. He is often available to assist with events and talks, and has previously spoken on the subject at schools.
Carl has many years’ experience of dealing with all financial aspects of marital or relationship breakdown. He has advised both husbands and wives in relation to financial issues that have included farming assets and is sympathetic to the unique status of a farm property and will seek to protect it with appropriate planning and /or on separation.
Born and raised in Peterborough, Carl has a strong relationship with the local community. He is a member the Peterborough Family Law Group, is well known in local sporting groups including football, cricket and golf and plays county cricket for veterans.’
